Commissioned THE WALKING WORM Art Phase One, Jewish Vampire Book To Pre-Order
The initial sketch of my cousin's illustration based on THE WALKING WORM. Also, my writing group organizer has a vampire book coming out, another ConPossible reminder
The Walking Worm is coming out in about two and a half weeks, although you can pre-order now. To kick off the fun, I’ve commissioned one of my cousins who’s majoring in art and graphic design (check out her portfolio here) to do artwork for the official premiere email on 2/5/25.
Here’s the thumbnail. The Worm and its slaves red, MJ-12 agents blue. I should get the final product sometime next week:
So mark your calendars — not only can you start reading TWW on 2/5, but you can see another artist interpret the Men In Black fighting a Monster of the Week and its mind-controlled cultists. :)
Writing Group Organizer Has Book Coming Soon
Katherine Villyard, the head of my main writing group for the last decade-plus (!), has a book slated for release Feb. 4. It’s entitled Immortal Gifts and stars a Jewish violinist from 19th Century Germany — who’s a vampire stalked across centuries by a vampirized former Inquisitor who hates Jews.
Here’s the Amazon link and here’s the Goodreads page that already has some reviews. Be warned, one of the Goodreads reviews sounds rather spoilery — for an event I don’t remember from the draft I read no less. Here’s an episode of The Functional Nerds podcast where they interview Katherine if you want more.
Don’t Forget ConPossible Feb. 7-9
Although I officially announced it in last week’s newsletter, in case you missed it I will be vending at ConPossible, a steampunk show in Duluth, GA Feb. 7-9.
This will be the first in-person opportunity to get signed copes of my newest book The Walking Worm, the second sequel to The Thing in the Woods. I also have a copy of Barbarians: From Conan To He-Man, a lavishly illustrated history of 1980s sword-and-sorcery films, I’m reselling. If you just want to shop, according to the website you can get passes to the vendor hall and the Author and Artist Alleys for $5.
