Premium Post: Historical Figures WASTELANDS Characters Are Based On

The world of my novel Battle for the Wastelands, its prequel “Son of Grendel,” and new sequel Serpent Sword required a lot of historical research, mostly pertaining to the Civil War and even some World War I and World War II. Most was focused on how individual soldiers and armies would train and fight, but a lot of characters in the book have a lot in common with prominent historical figures. Here are some…
Andrew Sutter-The protagonist of the series, for whom I have big plans. His character arc lines up a lot with Philip Sheridan, a cavalry general of the American Civil War who earned his rank in his 30s. Andrew is around 21 during the events of the first and second books; I plan for him to rise rather higher. Also a bit of Napoleon III, although less selfish and more competent. :)
